Multiple Kodak investment for Formara boosts quality

Southend commercial printer Formara has invested in a Kodak Magnus 400 II platesetter running Electra Excel thermal plates, and a Kodak Nexpress M700 colour digital press.

Formara managing director Freddie Kienzler said that the investment supported the company's drive for quality, value for money and reliability. The new platesetter, for instance, has "improved the reliability, quality and consistency" of the company's platemaking, as well as shortening makeready times. The company is also transferring some litho work onto its Nexpress, and bringing jobs back inhouse that were previously outsourced to other digital printers.

Kienzler also cited the Kodak Operator Replaceable Components (ORC) programme on the Nexpress: "We believe it significantly reduces the cost of print," he said. "The components last a long time and thereby help to minimise variable costs."
