Kodak adds four new Versamark web-fed inkjets

Kodak has extended its VL series of Versamark web-fed colour digital inkjets with four new models offering a variety of capabilities from high speeds to high qualities. All are based on Kodak's existing drop-on-demand printheads, and join the VL2000 and 2200 models launched in 2007.

The new Versamark VL6000 is a single-engine system with a choice of high speed (up to 150 metres/minute) or high quality (greater than 600dpi2). The VL6200 is the same model but additionally allowing two-up duplex printing. The Versamark VL4000 and VL4200 offer the same capabilites as the 6000 models, with increased baseline speeds of up to 125 metres/minute at qualities up to 600 x 360dpi. The 4000 models are designed for applications such as the distributed printing of newspapers.

The new Versamark models also carry a new system controller, the 700 Print Manager that plugs into the Kodak Unified Workflow system. All Versamark printers offer the choice of dye-based or pigment inks - dye-based inks offer reduced costs and improved densities.
